We invite you to our study session organised by the No Hate Nordic Youth Network in cooperation with the Council of Europe Youth Department. Together with other young persons from the Nordics you will learn about how to identify and take action against hate speech.
Where? The European Youth Center Strasbourg (EYCS), France.
When? 9th to 13th of March 2026. Arrivals on the 8th of March and departures on the 14th of March.
Who? Young people aged 16-30*, living in the Nordic countries and autonomous areas (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Greenland, Åland or the Faroe Islands)
Costs? Travel, accommodation and meals are covered by the Council of Europe*. All participants must pay a €60 participation fee.
Language: The study session and all the discussions will be held in English.
Deadline for applications is 15 January
*Full participation is obligatory; participants not attending the programme will not be eligible for travel reimbursement. If under 18 years old, participants must provide a parental consent form in order to participate.
About the study session
At the study session we will develop knowledge and gather tools and resources to counter hate speech, as well as strengthen the No Hate Nordic Network as a sustainable and strong youth network. The study session is a safe space for us to discuss and share experiences and opinions on hate speech. After the study session you will feel confident to take local action and to stand up for democracy, inclusion and equality as a youth ambassador against hate speech!
One of the outcomes of the study session will be an info pack that we create together. The info pack includes, among other things, stories and easy tools on how to counter hate speech. The resource will provide schools, organisations and other actors with a practical tool they can use to take action against hate speech.

Participant profile
Participants should:
- Be able to work in English;
- Be motivated to counter hate speech and become an Nordic youth ambassador and take part in the development of the No Hate Nordic network
- Be ready to act as ambassadors and use and spread the infopack you developed at the study session using your own skills and knowledge back to your local communities and organisations after the study session

Aims and objectives
The aim of the study session is to strengthen the No Hate Nordic Network as a sustainable youth network and provide young people with safe spaces to share experiences and develop the knowledge, tools and resources to counter hate speech and participate in society.
Our objectives are to:
- Build a lasting Nordic youth network against hate speech.
- Develop a youth-written Info Pack with tools and stories to counter hate speech.
- Train young people as Nordic youth ambassadors against hate speech.
- Promote intercultural learning and exchange between young people from all Nordic countries and autonomous areas.
- Empower participants to take local action and promote inclusion, equality, and democratic participation.
Participant selection
Participants are selected on the basis of their application by the preparatory team, ensuring a motivated and diverse group of participants capable of contributing to the objectives of the study session. The participants will be of different backgrounds and identities, ensuring both gender and geographic balance.
Accessibility and needs: The Youth Centres will take appropriate measures to also ensure the participation of young people with disabilities and special requirements in respect to diet, mobility, language, personal assistance, etc.
